W20 Argentina Kick-Off
On 11 December W20 Germany will hand over the W20 presidency to Argentina. The handover also marks the kick-off of a new dialogue process to remain a constant reminder to the G20 that gender equality and women's empowerment must be central issues in the G20 2018 Communiqué.
The kick-off is supported by a range of high-level politicians from Argentina such as G20 Argentina Sherpa, Ambassador Pedro Villagra Delgado, Vice President Gabriela Michetti, Treasury Minister Nicolás Dujovne and First Lady Juliana Awada. Also, German Minister of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth Dr. Katarina Barley will attend the event to talk about strategies on pushing for women's empowerment with Social Development Minister Carolina Stanley.
Finally, Mona Küppers - president of the National Council of German Women's Organisation - will hand over the W20 project handbook as a symbol of the German presidency to the Argentine chair and co-chair Susana Balbo and Andrea Grobocopatel.
