Dr. Gülden Türktan was the President of W20 Turkey, the outreach group of G20. During the Turkish Presidency of G20 she was head of women issues for all G20 countries. At the same time, she is a member of the Presidential Council of KAGIDER, Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey. She was one of the founding members of KAGIDER. From March 2011 to May 2015 she has served as the President of KAGIDER. During her Presidency at KAGIDER, she had outspoken speeches as well as timely remarks about public policy issues to shape women and regulation in the country. She is known to be the mastermind behind a very successful program, FEM – an equal opportunity program at the work place for corporations – which KAGIDER had launched with the opening keynote speech from Robert Zoellick, former President of World Bank. During her Presidency of W20, she shed light to the women rights and existence in the economy and foster gender inclusive economic growth. She is an entrepreneur. She owns a small boutique hotel in the south of Turkey. Between 1988 and 2008, she had worked as an executive as well as a board member of the local operation of ABB, a Swiss – Swedish engineering conglomerate. She now serves as a board member for several institutions and delivers freelance speeches about leadership, economy and enhancing management skills, as well as women – as a value add to the success of the corporations. She has studied economics and business and she is a management school graduate from New York University and Bogazici University and she has issued several papers on management. She is a member of the Advisory Council of Gender and Development for the World Bank Group.
